EXAMPLES :
1. Orders to dismiss the interlocutory petitions seeking to set aside the order against Deshbandhu.
The Supreme Court has today (18) rejected an interlocutory petition filed requesting the removal of the interim injunction order preventing Mr. Deshbandhu Tennakoon from serving as the Inspector General of police.
These petition were submitted by Venerable Bellanwila Dhammarathana Thero, Sirisumana Thero of Mahawarya Agalakada and Rahula Thero of Kotapitiya.
This interlocutory petition was summoned today before the three- member Supreme Court bench of Yasantha Kodagoda, Achala Dengappuli and Mahinda Samayawardena and the bench has informed that it will be dismissed as the contents of this interlocutory petition do not reveal a case at first sight.
2. A fire in Wellawaya Keiriagolla reserve
It is further stated that the fire has spread rapidly due to the severe dry weather and wind conditions prevailing in the area these days, and it is further stated that the fire has been completely controlled by the early hours of today (18)
3. Four police officers arrested
Modara police have arrested four police officers in connection with an extortion case. It is said that they have been arrested for threatening a house in Colombo 15 and extorting an amount of 14 lakh rupees. It is further stated that two constables, a sergeant and an officer of the North Colombo Intelligence Division attached to the Blumandel Police have been arrested.
Fake News
Fake news is false or misleading information that is presented an news. It is often created to influence people's opinions, spread misinformation or deceive readers for some specific purpose like political or financial gain. Fake news can appear in the form of articles, videos or social media posts and may look like legitimate news, but the information is not true.

Social media posts are circulating that National List Member of Parliament Dr. Harini Amarasuriya said that if the National People's force comes to upcoming elections, the Kandy Dalada Perahera will be allowed only if elephants are not used. In addition ,she stated that this Sinhala Buddhist festival should be held with the participation of all ethnic ,group including the Sinhalese, Tamil and Muslim communities the social media posts said.
2. No religion has priority . Religion is separated from the state, A letter from Anura to all media heads, newspaper editors
" We are not racists or religious because we held a Sangh conference. No religion take precedence in the compass and there is no difference in our policies. We regard religion as the main reason why we have become a backward nation and keeping the state and religion at a distance is our main policy"A note was circulated on social media stating that it was a media advertisement sent by the National People's Liberation army to all media organizations.
